  • Betty’s is seeking ceramics instructors to teach adult classes in handbuilding, wheel throwing techniques. Must have your own practice in clay that is well developed. Exhibiting artists or ceramicists are preferred. Must have experience teaching classes to adults. Teachers will lead small groups (10 people) of adult students in various wheel throwing and hand building excercises in a series of 7 week sessions, and one- off classes to build skills. We are looking for friendly, personable folks who can be flexible and adapt to the needs of our brand new studio. Rates are commensurate with experience.

  • Betty’s Ceramics Club is seeking 2 part time studio technicians. Experience loading kilns and working in a ceramics studio is a must. Experience repairing and troubleshooting kilns is strongly preferred. Studio techs will spend 50-60% of their time cleaning and organizing the studio and the other 50% processing ceramics and loading kilns. We are looking for friendly, personable folks who can be flexible and adapt to the needs of our brand new studio.

  • Betty’s Ceramics Club is looking for fun, creative and experienced teaching artists for our 2024 summer camp programming. Summer camp teaching artists are contracted on a week by week basis from 8:45am-3:15pm. Summer camps run for 10 weeks from the week of June 17 to the week of August 19; with one age 5-9 camp and one age 10-14 taking place each week. Teaching artists will have an assistant to help with the camp day.

    The ideal teaching artist:

    -Has extensive experience teaching and lesson planning for youth art/ceramic classes.

    -Has experience managing a variety of age ranges, can command large groups and keep students engaged.

    -Has developed their own process based teaching systems.

    -Has experience teaching wheel throwing, handbuilding and preferably other artistic mediums as well.

    -Experience managing artistic assistants

    -Has a fun and outgoing personality to create exciting class experiences.

    Pay rate: $875 per week. Opportunity to continue into fall programming.
