Betty’s is seeking ceramics instructors to teach adult classes in handbuilding and/or wheel throwing techniques. Instructors are expected to lead group classes (up to 12 adults) in various wheel throwing and hand building exercises in a series of multi-week sessions (up to 8 weeks), and one-off classes to build skills. Instructors should also commit to learning and communicating Betty’s studio policies with their students. We are looking for friendly, personable folks who can be flexible and adapt to the needs of a growing studio.
Requirements:
Prior experience teaching adult ceramics classes
Portfolio / other proof of personal ceramics practice

Betty’s is seeking a part-time Studio Technician to work ~10-20 hours a week. Shifts would be scheduled during weekday evenings from 5pm-11pm and weekends from 5pm-11pm.
The Studio Technician role is an individual contributor role focused on behind-the-scenes studio operations. Primary responsibilities include loading and unloading kilns, making glazes, and making clay. Additional responsibilities include studio cleaning and closing procedures. The ideal studio technician possesses a relaxed, positive demeanor, is a hard worker, and is able to communicate with other studio techs regarding workload.
Requirements:
1-2 years of studio tech experience
Must know how to load and unload kilns, make glazes, and make clay

Betty’s Ceramics Club is looking for a fun, creative and experienced teaching artist to join our 2025 youth programming roster. Betty’s offers a wide variety of youth classes for ages 3-14 from After School programs, school partnerships and weekend family classes. Youth instructors are responsible for lesson planning and leading Betty’s youth classes, providing exceptional arts education experiences for the Hamilton Park and greater Jersey City area.
The ideal Betty’s youth instructor:
-Has experience in an arts and/or education setting preferably teaching and lesson planning for youth art/ceramic classes.
-Has experience managing a variety of age ranges, can command large groups, keep children engaged and has exceptional classroom management skills.
-Has developed their own process based teaching systems.
-Has experience teaching both handbuilding and wheel throwing
-Has a fun and outgoing personality to create exciting class experiences.
Pay rate: commensurate with experience and class

Betty’s is seeking a part-time Studio Administrator to work ~10-20 hours a week. Shifts would be scheduled during weekday afternoons from 3:00pm-7:00pm or weekends from 9:30am-1:30pm OR 1:30pm-7:15pm.
The Studio Administrator role is a hybrid operations and customer service role. The Studio administrator identifies and anticipates studio needs, completing operations tasks such as ordering supplies, resetting the studio between classes, and bagging artwork for one-time classes. The Studio Administrator is also responsible for maintaining in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of Betty’s Ceramics Club programming and policies in order to sell classes, memberships, and gift cards to customers. The ideal candidate is comfortable with technology tasks including the use of CRM software (bonus points for experience with Sawyer or Squarespace) and providing light social media support.
Requirements:
2-3 years of working experience
Candidate should have prior management or operations experience
Previous work experience in a customer service-driven environment
