A Betty is FAMILY

Betty’s is named in honor of Sam’s grandmother Betty, pictured above, who taught us the importance of being a good neighbor. Betty turns 92 in November. She’s a great cook and a bold personality. Also, a reminder that ceramics is incomplete without good food and good company.

A Betty is COMMUNITY

Before Jersey City, Betty’s began as a fundraiser in Brooklyn. In 2020 when the world went on pause, Betty’s came to life. During the pandemic, we produced and donated ceramic tableware that could be sold in order to raise money for Covid relief. We raised money for Bed-Stuy Strong, local schools, and various other community organizations. We hope to carry this same spirit forward with Jersey City community.
